Your "afk" system fails in two different things.

1. Lag, some of us have shitty computers and it takes more than 30 seconds to load an area.

2. "No reward mode" would make Defender of Ascalon title nearly impossible to get, as it takes over 700 hours of afking. I have nothing against making it impossible to get after I've gained it myself.

1. Increase times then, so that players with shitty comps do't get reported, before they have even loaded (but obviously, people see, when someone is still loading oO)

2. thats why the damn title should be changed finally, together with the Survivor title, so that both titles become finally fair and old charas, which got no chance to receive them, because they were

a. naturally out of presearing, before title existed and/or

b. died hundreds of deaths, before survivor title came ...

I made 2 example suggestion,s which would make both titles easily fair for all, but then come naturlly only all the comments of the selfish a....... which grant other players absolutely nothing, because they think their beloved titles are then not prestige enough anymore "FOR THEM", as if you would take away a baby his lolly ... >.>

  • Players who leave a PvP match prematurely will receive 5 dishonor points.
  • If a player is reported for leeching, that player will receive 2 dishonor points for each report against him. Players who report a team member for leeching without a third of their team also reporting that player will also receive 2 dishonor points.
  • Any account that has accumulated 10 or more dishonor points is given the Dishonorable status, which is displayed as a buff icon on screen. While affected by this status, no characters present on that account may enter any PvP missions.
  • The Dishonorable status remains in effect for 1 minute for each accumulated dishonor point. This status cannot be removed by logging out or changing characters.
  • When the duration of the Dishonorable status has expired, characters on that account may once again join PvP missions.
  • Dishonor points will remain on the player's account for a total of 60 minutes. If further dishonor points are acquired during this period, that account is once again given the Dishonorable status, though for a longer period of time.
  • To clear dishonor points from an account, a player must go 60 minutes without accumulating any new dishonor points.

Now I realize that this doesn't justify leaving or go along with the idea of Random. But in itself I think it accurately shows how the 'leaver" was actually helping most ppl win. (it's an arena, you did want to win right?)
I doubt Anet ever wanted to encourage any system that would encourage leaving in any way, so generally speaking, anything bad or even 'good' that could come from it is undesirable in a categorical sense.

I think phoenix tears is right in the sense that it would be a serious mistake to give 'omg you killed me so I'm going to punish you' powers to the players. All that is necessary is to be more specific with the punishments and not make big wide sweeping attempts to fix such problems with a generic punishment system.

It's 1 minute per dishonor point, so the minimum time-out is 10 minutes. Then, if you get more dishonor points in the same hour, you get a new time-out, which will be longer.

I've been doing RA alot lately.. and everytime a new match starts, there's a message that says when you abuse the /report command, it will result in a ban. There's no need to change the system because I think that its fine the way it is. If someone has reported you and you haven't been doing anything wrong and someone's reported you, most likely they will get banned from the game for a few hours.
Ive been called a leecher once simply because a teammember didn't understand the concept of being disconnected... Even after I explained it ^^;
Most players get it though, so that's not a concern...

I don't see any need to complain about the system by the way, it's only being tested. The penalty for being reported enough to get 10 points isn't that big anyway. I haven't seen anyone abuse the system either, and I was ABing all weekend. :P

I like the system as it was this weekend, it seems to work as it should.

And that's just... weird. Characters who didn't die before Survivor was implemented got the title didn't they? The same goes for characters who got to lvl 20 in pre before then. If you died, you're not a survivor and don't deserve the title, if you left presearing before level 20, you don't deserve the Defender title, so making it possible for old characters to get would have no point whatsoever.

The seem, that it looks as if it would work as it should is imo only an illusion, as long Anet is the only side, who can prove, if reports were correct, or not ...

Of course ANET doesn't wish for people to leave but I think you are overlooking the context of the statement. It was simply to show the players, not ANET, that leavers may have, or in my opinion did, help people earn more glad points, get more faction and generally speaking have more fun. Please refer to my prior post to get the full breakdown of this.

And a another point, /resign, um well thats ANET's implementation of leaving. That is also discussed in my previous post where I point out that the update is short sighted and for the most part a failure with unexplained changes to the glad title point system.

Thanks for your reply.

All they need do, is give dishonourable points to a person if they abuse the report system. That way if someone uses it without good reason, they get points themselves.

Nothing you say is ever clear.

Your use of the word S*** COULD be implied to violate rule 7 of the forum:

"7. Offensive Content, Illegal Material

Don't post / link to pornography, warez, illegal material or offensive content. Also, please be mindful of your language. Message boards of this nature draw many different kinds of people, and people of different ages - observing these rules are just good common sense and etiquette when dealing with others. See Terms and Conditions."

but your right. It is not clear enough to say it definatly does.

come on, in lots of countries the word S*** is since years a normal word of common language, that even use the smalest childs without thinking about it, what they say ...

when you would hear, how "normally" young childs are insulting and cursing each other, without being influenced by any forum before... then the word S*** is for you somewhat of harmless against this

Would it be so extreme offensive and destroying the "etiquette", i surely don't stop mods from editing the threads word to > s***

the system is fine. has potential for abuse, but has no real punishment...

IMHO, it was needed.

If you got reported for a real reason, quit QQing. if you got reported for an illegitimate reason, well, 60 seconds isn't much.

I'm yet to see PROOF someone got suspended for an illegitimate reason...

A few points:

1. Just because the word is commonly used does not mean some people dont find it offensive.

2. I already conceded the point. It is not explictly againt the rules. Continuing to argue on the point is only further derailing your own discussion thread.

3. Here is a forums tip: Maybe if you posted a little less "combative" people would agree with you more. Your thread title and your OP imediatly make you sound angry, irational, and unreasonable. No one wants to agree with a person like that.

I'm done with you know.

ANet doesn't HAVE to do this, as a matter of fact, they really shouldn't be doing it. (Payment viewpoint.) It's like a bonus, and are calling hells fury upon them, while they are stepping outside the money we gave them, to give us something we don't deserve.

Sometimes I worry about the mental health of the employees at ANet.
